Barnes, SW13

JPS were involved from the outset with this project. We introduced an architect, structural engineer, compiled a scope of works, contracted builder and Project Managed.

The terraced property has a ‘butterfly’ roof and a previous owner had removed a supporting beam, resulting in the exterior walls being pulled inwards from the weight of the roof.

As the structural work was extensive, the clients decided to refurbish the property and make better use of an exterior courtyard, by removing a steel spiral staircase to the terrace, creating a courtyard and store room.

The results were great.

Client Testimonal:

We spent years planning a redesign of our space to make it fit better into our lifestyles. When we discovered that there was a massive structural problem that had to be addressed urgently, we set about building the right team to help deliver our vision.

From the outset, JPS was a true partner for us throughout this immense project. The structural work was the excuse we needed to help us get the house we had sketched on the back of napkins for years. From the initial consultation with JPS, everything became so much more clear and well defined, helping us improve our napkin sketches into a truly divine living space.

The structural work was combined with a total renovation, touching all 3 floors of our historic property. It included new timber box sash windows throughout, reconfigured and refurbished bathrooms, a bespoke Poggen Pohl kitchen, a complete re-wire with new lighting and power designs, underfloor heating and a brand new look for our existing spiral staircase. The finishing touches were just as professional and beautifully executed as the major works; the replastered and repainted walls and the new render on the front of the house really made the house feel brand new despite its 150 years of age.

Our newly redesigned and completely refurbished house is absolutely breath taking and we could not have achieved such a large scale project without the partnership and positive attitude of JPS.

I would not hesitate to recommend them.

The clients had plans and permissions, and we were contracted to deliver the project. We wrote the scope of works, project programme, contracted a team of builders and project managed to completion.

This internal reconfiguration involved moving the kitchen from the middle of the house to rear, blocking up a wall to create a Snug, with double doors leading to the front room.

New hardwood French doors and casement windows to the new kitchen, along with new hardwood sash window to the Snug.

Wall to wall handmade bookshelves, with period mantlepiece to the fireplace, designer radiator and carpet to finish the Snug.

The kitchen is finished with feature decorative panelling to wall, designer radiator and tiled wood effect flooring.

Kitchen supplied by Wren.

Client Testimonal:

My husband and I had planned this renovation for years and found JPS who managed this project so we could realise our vision.

They were terrific collaborators, and the team of builders were excellent. Jonathan is charming, business like and responsive to his client’s concerns.

Chiswick, W4

We had previously managed the refurbishment of this client’s family bathroom.

The clients had been planning a rear extension and internal refurbishment for many years, and asked if JPS would be interested in managing the project, as they were not experienced builders and lived for 6 months each year in France.

The client had already instructed architects, so our remit was to contract a build team, source products and deliver the project on time and to budget.
This Art Deco rear single storey extension design was far from simple with major steelwork creating the exterior structure, roof canopy and wrap around Crittall glazing to the side and rear.

Angled roof detail with balcony canopy, roof glazing and finished with Rhein zinc.

Crittall interior and exterior glazing, zoned underfloor heating, reclaimed and refurbished parquet flooring, with Italian designer feature lighting throughout.

Landscaped rear garden with sandstone patio and pathway.

We were introduced to this client, who had already had drawings and all permissions.

We Project Managed this rear extension, internal reconfiguration to create cloakroom, W/C, kitchen, and central fireplace.

Walls finished with shadow gaps to create illusion of walls floating above oak flooring, Glass skylight spanning extension, with feature lighting and timber bi-fold doors to garden patio finished in sandstone slab.

We fitted a bespoke, handmade timber kitchen and applied a sprayed finish to a RAL colour.

JPS managed this project from arranging plans through a local architect and engineer through to detailed scope of works, contracting a builder with full Project Management, through to completion and 12 month retention.

The project consisted of a extending an existing loft conversion to form larger bedroom with en suite along with refurbishing the 3rd floor.

In addition we reconfigured the ground floor, with zoned underfloor heating throughout, new W/C with cloakroom and utility room. Entrance hallway leads to tall double pocket sliding doors, stepping down to a rear lowered floor kitchen / diner with new side extension.

Floors finished with wide natural engineered wood, 3 pane aluminium sliding doors leading to hardwood decking and raised garden.

Methodist Church, KT

The architects leading this Church refurbishment were recommended to JPS Project Management.

After understanding the nature of this delicate refurbishment of a local Church and community centre, we took the project from plans through to contracting heating engineers, electricians, wood floor restorers, decorators and carpet suppliers.

This historic Church was finally transformed from a rather tired and dowdy building into something that gets the comment “It’s beautiful”

The works included: dismantling and removing the traditional pews, upgrading an old ‘hot air’ boiler system to a new commercial boiler and central heating, patch repairing, refurbishing, and sealing the original parquet flooring.

Exterior wall damp prevention and repairs and a full re-decoration.

The stage was extended, and new carpets laid to access areas and the new stage.

The Church leader and congregation were extremely pleased with the refurbishment, and they kindly sent us a ‘Thank You’ card signed by all.

Strand on the Green Junior School, Kew, W4

We had previously managed the upgrade of the Sports Hall.

The School had successfully grown to a point the staff required a new Staff Room

We managed the extension of the existing staff room with interior designed finish.

This project was split into 2 phases, to meet school term deadlines. The 1st phase was to extend the existing staff room situated on the first floor, the exterior walls are finished in blue/grey Cedral Weatherboard, with new windows and double doors leading to new exterior deck area.

The roof finish matches existing along with pantone coloured aluminium soffits and fascia’s to match a new building.

The 2nd phase, the interior was re-furbished with new raised floor, interior designed kitchen, island with bar stools, banquette, work and relaxing areas, and digital TV.

The lighting design highlights each area with designer fittings.

Then Head and Staff were extremely pleased with the new room, and most importantly, completed on time, during the Summer Holiday, with no impact on Term time.
